Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany Nominated For Second Consecutive Emmy

Space recently put out a press release congratulating Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany on her second consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nomination, as announced this morning by The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The star of the hit Space original series was honoured for her critically-acclaimed work in Orphan Black, with a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, alongside heavy-hitters Claire Danes (Homeland), Viola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), Keri Russell (The Americans), and Robin Wright (House of Cards).

The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards air live Sunday, September 18th at 8pm on CTV.

“We are elated that the Academy has once again acknowledged the remarkable work that Tatiana Maslany has done bringing such unique and beloved characters to life in Orphan Black.” said Tracey Pearce, Senior Vice-President of Specialty and Pay at Bell Media. “Unlike the clones she creates in the series, there is only one Tatiana Maslany, and we are honored to have her return for our fifth and final season.”

In Orphan Black, Maslany has amazed audiences by portraying eleven distinct clones, including Sarah Manning, Alison Hendrix, Cosima Niehaus, Helena, Rachel Duncan, Beth Childs, M.K., Katja Obinger, Jennifer Fitzsimmons, Tony Sawicki, and Krystal Goderitch. Aside from her second Emmy nomination, Maslany’s additional accolades include two Critics‘ Choice Television Awards for Best Dramatic Actress (2013, 2014), an ACTRA Award for Outstanding Performance – Female (2015), a Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Drama (2013), two EWwy Award for Best Actress (2013, 2014) from Entertainment Weekly readers, three consecutive Canadian Screen Awards for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Dramatic Role (2014, 2015, 2016), and a Gracie Award for Outstanding Female Actor in A Breakthrough Role (2014).
