Elite automakers from around the world bring their most futuristic designs to that lawn to show what the supercars of tomorrow might look like. Very few of them will ever be built, so it’s a sort of dream realm — a portal into the future of aspirational cars. This year, Mercedes-Benz polished up the shiniest portal at Pebble with the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the car’s drive system has an output of 550. While a top speed from that power plant is not listed for the car, the automaker says the battery power will last for more than 200 miles.
The technological and engineering bells and whistles are well and good, but the story about this car is its styling. While their cars can be fun to drive, Mercedes-Benz isn’t known for its whimsy or playfulness. It’s hard to deny there’s a lot of attitude about this car.
On the Concept Lawn, most visitors raved about its throwback elegance and bold colors. A minority said it looks like one of Ronald McDonald’s shoes. If we judge the verdict by how many people gathered around it at Pebble Beach, the styling is a runaway success.
