Former USC and Oakland Raiders quarterback Todd Marinovich was arrested this past weekend after being found naked in a stranger’s yard.
The 47-year-old was arrested for trespassing and marijuana possession in his home city of Irvine, Calif.
“The caller stated that there was a naked person on Venta Spur Trail,” said Hallinan, referring to a paved bike and walking path that runs along a greenbelt between homes.
Hallinan said that Marinovich, an Irvine resident, was in a backyard of a home on Bluecoat: “He was carrying the items in a brown bag.”
Marinovich was a Heisman Trophy candidate in 1990 and led the Trojans to a Rose Bowl win over Michigan. He was then selected in the first round of the 1991 NFL draft by the Oakland Raiders, ahead of Brett Favre.
The quarterback was released from the Raiders after just two seasons due to repeated drug abuse. Marinovich plead guilty in 1997 to felony drug charges and was arrested for drug possession in 2005.
