Brian Anderson has been an intimidating professional skateboarder for roughly two decades. Now, through a Vice documentary, the 1999 Skater of the Year is opening up about being gay.
Fans are calling the move a “huge day for skateboarding,” and a “proud day” for skateboarding.
The video is a 26:00 mini-documentary that’s well worth the watch. So sit back, relax, and just watch Anderson’s story. It’s one very well done.
It’s around the 3:45 mark Anderson begins to explain his journey by saying, “My name is Brian Anderson. I’m a professional skateboarder. And we are here to talk about the fact that I’m gay.”
