Ticket prices to see the Cubbies in the World Series continue to skyrocket into breathtaking prices. But hell, even if you want to watch the lovable losers on a big screen at a bar nearby it’s going to cost you a car payment or two.
Reports out of Chicago are that some of the bars are charging as much as $250 per person this weekend for fans who want to watch the Cubs’ World Series games against the Indians. Want an actual four-person table? That will run you as much as $500!
Bars reportedly listing $100-$500 prices for their “watch parties”:
- Old Crow Smokehouse
- Deuces
- The Diamond Club
- John Barleycorn
- Casey Moran’s
- Moe’s Cantina
- HVAC Pub
- Merkle’s Bar and Grill
Myron Mixon’s newly opened Smoke Show Barbecue at 3801 N. Clark St. will have all-you-can-eat tickets for $50 on the weekend. Reservations will be accepted for home games, but it’ll be first-come, first-served for away games Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Cubby Bear at 1059 W. Addison St., is keeping it simple for the weekend: the cover is still $100 with no table reservations or party packages.
Standing room at Rockit Burger Bar, 3700 N. Clark St., is $40, or guests can pay $100 for a table. Yak-Zies, 3710 N. Clark St., will charge a $25 cover and an hourly surcharge of $50 for a table.
Some bars are also offering all you can packages that range from $250-1,250. Many appear to already be sold out.
Bars allegedly not charging covers:
- Big G’s
- Stretch Bar & Grill
- Johnny O’Hagans
- Murphy’s Bleachers
- Vines on Clark
- The Irish Oak
- Roadhouse 66 Gas N’ Grill
- The Bar Celona
- Sports Corner
- Sheffield’s
- Higgins’ Tavern
- Yak-Zies ($25)
Just to park your car nearby may cost you hundreds of dollars as well.
Maybe Chicago will burn itself down whether the Cubs win or lose?
