Comicon season has begun, kicking off on the West Coast in less than a week. Here are the best 6 Comicon events in Canada.
Vancouver Comicon – March 12th
Taking place at Heritage Hall, special guests this year include Oliver Hine, Dawson Ross, Beth Wagner and Morgan Zentner.
Toronto ComiCon – March 17-19
Canada’s largest event, it attracts more than 25,000 people and 400 exhibitors. Big-name guests include cast members of Degrassi (they’re having a reunion), Bones‘ Michaela Conlin and T.J. Thyne, Brett Dalton from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and many more.
Central Canada Comicon – April 1-2
Also known as C4 and being hosted at RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg, visitors can take part in attractions, exhibitors, artists, video gaming, 5k tournaments, arena demos, and other programming. Allison Mack of Smallville will also be there.
Sci-Fi on the Rock – April 28-30
Sci-Fi on the Rock is Newfoundland’s premiere science fiction & fantasy event, and this year, in addition to their workshops and costume contest, guests will include Doug Jones, Ethan Phillips, Jewel Staite, and more.
Montreal Comicon – July 7-9
The countdown to Montreal’s premiere sci-fi event, this Comicon is always a huge draw, and organizers are promising to announce their plans for this year’s installment in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to their website for more info.
Hal-Con – September 22-24
The biggest sci-fi convention in Eastern Canada, Hal-Con is a go-to event in Halifax. While they haven’t yet announced their special guests, this community-focused conference has brought together some of the biggest names in the sci-fi in the past, and will surely do so again this time around.
