A Service Dog In The Crowd Chased An Actress In ‘Cats’ Off The Broadway Stage

Not everybody in attendance at a recent Broadway production of Cats was thrilled with the cast’s performance.

According to Metro, a service dog in the crowd jumped on stage during the opening number “Jellicle Cat” and chased after Bombalurina, who was being played by actress Mackenzie Warren. Thankfully, a quick-acting patron grabbed the dog and returned it to its “mortified owner.”

A spokesperson for the musical confirmed that the incident occurred during a recent performance and had a little fun telling reporters about it.

“In the storied history of Cats, this is the first time one of the actual cats was involved in an incident with a dog,” the spokesperson said. “We’re pleased to report that no animals or humans were harmed in the dust-up, and the performance continued without a hitch.”

It’s unknown if the dog and its owner were asked to leave the show after the interruption or at least asked to retreat to an open seat in the balcony.

I for one think that a little dog intervention during a show about cats is good from time to time. Unless, of course, it takes a massive shit in the theater’s aisle on its way up to the stage. Then no, no dogs at the show, please.
