Meanwhile in the Sky: Man Gives Fellow Passenger Tattoo During Flight, Turbulence Makes a Fun Wild Card (Video)

Tattoos are risky propositions under the best of circumstances. You never know if your ink-based artist is going to bring your desired vision to life competently and if they do, whether or not you’ll regret the tat down the line. And don’t even get us started on the pain factor or risk of infection, which can vary widely based on what body part you’re having worked on and how clean the studio is, respectively.

But one brave soul decided to buck all that we know about how to have a positive tattooing experience and to throw a new wild card – turbulence – into the mix…by getting a tattoo on an airplane.

In an Instagram video posted by the account @passengershaming, a man is seen tattooing his seatmate’s hand during a flight as the plane lands.

“Thoughts and prayers for no turbulence,” the account captioned the brief clip.

In the video, the “artist” is seen using a tattoo gun to do his work, ink splashing around on the tray table as he does so.

“My man was getting in some tight and clean line work on his friend WHILE THE PLANE TOUCHED DOWN,” the person who filmed the video shared.

Instagram followers weren’t so impressed.

“This is absolutely revolting,” one commented.

“I’m just thinking of the tiny blood microspatters all over that tray,” another wrote.

“I’m constantly going to wonder what in AF happened in the seat before me now,” a third opined.

“Showing this to my husband so he can quit making fun of me for alcohol wiping the entire area every time we sit down on a plane,” someone else insisted.

In case you were wondering, yes, tattoo guns, needles, and ink are all allowed in carry-on luggage. Whether or not it’s wise to get inked in the air, well, that’s up for debate. We’ll stick to the traditional studio – and its stability – for our own next stupid tattoo, thanks.
