Finally, news worth watching. A reporter in West Virginia gave viewers an exclusive when she got hit by a vehicle during a live broadcast – and just kept on trucking.
WSAZ-TV reporter Tori Yorgey was reporting solo about a water main break when an SUV slammed into her. She responded by picking up her camera and continuing the report.

“Oh my God! I just got hit by a car, but I’m OK, Tim,” Yorgey told anchor Tim Irr.
“Well, that’s a first for you on TV, Tori,” Irr replied.
“That’s live TV for you. It’s all good,” Yorgey chirped. “I actually got hit by a car in college, too, just like that. I am so glad I’m OK.”
The driver could be heard apologizing in the background: “Ma’am, you are so sweet, and you are OK.”
Yorgery assured the driver she was fine. (She later went to the hospital to confirm this.) Irr asked Yorgey where she had been hit.
“I don’t even know, Tim,” she answered. “My whole life flashed before my eyes, but this is live TV and everything is OK.”
She continued: “I thought I was in a safe spot, but clearly we might need to move the camera over a little bit.”
Yorgey didn’t want to linger on the incident too long, though.
“But again, Tim, we’ll get back to the report, right?” she said. “We’re on Roxalana Hills Driver in Dunbar. This is where that water main break is.”
This kind of professional dedication is totally foreign to us. We get a papercut and we’re ready to file for worker’s comp and take a week off. Thank goodness drive-bys aren’t an occupational hazard in our line of work!
