Denis O’Hare Haunts ‘American Horror Story: Coven’

“American Horror Story” has a habit of bringing its performers back for multiple seasons despite its anthology format. Now another actor is heading back to the show.

On his twitter account, “American Horror Story” co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed that Denis O’Hare has joined the cast of “American Horror Story: Coven.” Details on O’Hare’s new character were unrevealed, but he will join fellow returnees Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and Taissa Farmiga. Kathy Bates and Gabourey Sidibe are also joining the cast this season.

During the first season of “American Horror Story,” O’Hare appeared as a disturbed man named Larry Harvey (pictured above). However, O’Hare is best known for his stint on “True Blood” as Russell Edgington. O’Hare has also appeared in several feature films, including Milk, 21 Grams, Garden State, Michael Clayton, Changeling and Charlie Wilson’s War.

“American Horror Story: Coven” is expected to debut on FX in October. A premiere date will likely be announced during the FX presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour.
