Blind Taste-Test: Ranking 9 Classic Colas

C’mon, we’re been fighting that battle for generations now.  Did the Cola Wars of the 80’s teach us nothing?

Frankly, it’s not only a tired question, but an irrelevant one.  Because the battlefield is no longer the Big Two trading blows with each other — it’s scores of factions, all fighting tooth and nail to be one of the Big Two trading blows with each other.

The cola hierarchy that used to be just Us vs. Them is now fractured to the point that keeping them all straight is nearly as impossible as identifying all the combatants in “Game of Thrones.”

If the Lannisters are Coke and the Starks are Pepsi, I guess that’d put some of the remaining better known brands like Nice (Walgreen’s in-store cola) or Trader Joe’s on par with the Baratheons and the Targareans.  Which would make some of those whackadoo, where-the-hell-does-that-come-from labels like Zevia or GuS the serious wildcards, kind of like the Dothraki or those crazy warlock dudes from Qarth.

So, where the hell does that leave Mexican Coke then?

While this analogy has been pushed way past its limits, the question remains — which cola tastes the best?

Thankfully, you must wonder no longer.  Thrillist taste-tested nine different cola brands, including Coke and Pepsi, to determine which cola should sit upon the Aluminum Throne.

OK, that was the last “GoT” reference…seriously…I’m done now.

And the results of Thrillist’s test?  Fairly surprising…

Head over to Thrillist to find out the one cola that will rule them all.  Wait, wrong geek-verse.  Sorry, folks.
