At the conclusion of “24” Season 8, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) was forced to go on the run after getting branded as a fugitive by the U.S. government. But Jack will be back next year in the 12 part miniseries, “24: Live Another Day.” And it looks like the government won’t be done with Jack any time soon.
According to
Deadline, Gbenga Akinnagbe and Giles Matthey have been cast as CIA operatives in “24: Live Another Day.” Akinnagbe will portray Erik Ritter, a field agent described as “strong, sharp, arrogant and ambitious” while Matthey will play Jordan Reed, a CIA computer genius.
Akinnagbe recently had a recurring role on USA’s “Graceland” and he has also made appearances in “The Good Wife,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Cold Case,” “Damages” and “Elementary.” Mattey is primarily known for playing Claude Crane on “True Blood.”
“24: Live Another Day” will be filmed (and take place) in London, as Jack finds himself on the run again. Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver and William Devane will reprise their roles from the “24” TV series, while Judy Davis recently joined the cast as the widow of a prominent terrorist.
Fox has slated “24: Live Another Day” to premiere in May 2014.
