This summer, “Strike Back” will finish its run on Cinemax after four seasons. But Cinemax is holding on to its other action franchise for at least another year.
Cinemax has officially announced that “Banshee” will be back for a third season in 2015. Currently in its second season on Cinemax, “Banshee” stars Antony Starr as a master thief who assumes the identity of Lucas Hood, a small town sheriff who uses his position to further his criminal agenda while attempting to win back Carrie Hopewell (Ivana Milicevic), his former partner-in-crime who is now the wife of Banshee’s District Attorney.
“Banshee” also stars Hoon Lee, Frankie Faison, Ulrich Thomsen, Rus Blackwell, Matt Servitto, Demetrius Grosse, Trieste Kelly Dunn and Ryann Shane. Some of the notable guest stars in “Banshee” Season 2 include Odette Annable, Ben Cross, Zeljko Ivanek,Tatanka Means and Julian Sands.
Presumably “Banshee” Season 3 will premiere in January 2015. In the meantime, Cinemax is launching “The Knick” this summer, from director Steven Soderbergh with Clive Owen slated to star in the series.
