With comics becoming more and more realistic, the harsh reality of failed, doomed, and even deadly love becomes an intrinsic part of the comic book world. SUPERMAN & LORI LEMARIS
Let’s Meet Our Couple: Superman is the most powerful superhero in existence. Lori is a mermaid who went to college with Clark Kent. She’s also the main squeeze Superman chose over Lois.
Creepy Factor: Depends on how you view it. An alien from another planet mixing it up with a denizen of the deep isn’t too creepy, though you do have to factor in the inter-species sex angle. This isn’t a first for the Superman family. At one point, Supergirl had it bad for Comet the Superhorse, though he did start life as an actual Kryptonian. Perhaps the true creep factor is that Superman really only got serious about Lois Lane after Lori kicked him to the curb.

CLOAK & DAGGER
Let’s Meet Our Couple: Two runaways met, became friends, and then got caught up in the world of mad scientists testing drugs on kids, hoping to create super powers. Most of the test subjects died, but our two runaways responded well to the drugs, with Dagger being able to throw light daggers and Cloak becoming an expansive darkness contained only by his cloak. One being light, the other being darkness, these two were made for each other.
Creepy Factor: While the idea of mistreated runaways has its own creep factor, Cloak and Dagger have always operated on a brother-sister vibe. As the relationship matured, feelings grew on Cloak’s side, but not Dagger's. It’s caused them some tension, but nothing too creepy as yet.

COLOSSUS & SHADOWCAT
Let’s Meet Our Couple: Kitty Pryde, our cute teenage suburban girl who loves to walk through walls. Colossus, our simple-minded Russian strongman who can turn his whole body to steel.
Creepy Factor: Medium. When Chris Claremont was helming Uncanny X-Men, Kitty was an adorable 14 year old, while Colossus clocked in at a much more adult 19. It was creepy watching Kitty repeatedly hit on the steel man during her sexual awakening. Thankfully, Claremont, and good taste kept Colossus at bay. He never fully responded to her invitations. Much later, K and C did mix it up, but eventually Colossus got seriously unstable and she broke it off.

BATMAN & TALIA AL GHUL
Let’s Meet Our Couple: Having seen his parents gunned down, Batman dedicated his life to fighting crime on ever level. On the flipside, R'as Al Ghul, psychotic criminal mastermind, raised Talia, pretty much assuring that she would also be a criminally oriented nut-job. They say opposites attract, and these two crazy kids couldn’t keep away from each other - so much so that they had a child, Damian Wayne.
Creepy Factor: Well. Mom became such a psycho that she had her own son assassinated for joining Batman instead of the family trade. We think that rates the creep factor as very, very high.

ARCHIE/BETTY/VERONICA
Let's Meet Our Couple: Archie is the aw-shucks redhead teen of from Riverdale. Betty is our wholesome, beautiful, girl next door, and Veronica is the rich, seductive temptress.
Creepy Factor: It’s a bit creepy. Betty’s self-esteem issues are so deep-rooted that she continues to go after Archie, even as he routinely breaks her heart. Archie is a scumbag, fine with crushing Betty’s soul because he’s too much of a bitch to stand up to Veronica. Then there’s Veronica, the manipulative, cruel control freak, who claims Betty is her best friend, yet continues to watch with great delight as her heart breaks. It may seem like teen dating hilarity, but upon closer review, the whole dynamic is creepy.

HANK PYM & JANET VAN DYNE
Let’s Meet Our Couple: Two of the original Avengers, Hank Pym is a genius scientist who also happens to be the man who created Ultron. Jan is his wife, also a super powered hero named the Wasp. The couple is key to the Avengers first victory, and to coming up with the name.
Creepy Factor: Pretty severe. Hank became a wife beater, thanks to a psychotic breakdown that made him an emotionally cruel son of a bitch who “accidentally” cracked Janet in the mouth when she tried to foil his plot of launching an attack to make himself look good. Pym sucks even worse in the Ultimate universe. At one point, he drowns Janet in a sea of red ants. Marvel is attempting to make Hank a good guy again, but it’s too little too late.

MS. MARVEL & MARCUS
Let’s Meet Our Couple: Marcus is the son of Immortus. Ms. Marvel is one of the most badass characters in the Marvel Universe.
Creepy Factor: Way, way, waaaaaayyyy off the charts. Marcus kidnaps Carol Danvers, takes her to an alternate dimension, then wipes her memory and sleeps with her. Danvers is now pregnant with the son of Marcus, who, in our dimension, will be born and then rapidly grow to the grown up Marcus, who kidnaps Ms. Marvel in order to do the same thing again. The second time he takes Carol, the Avengers do nothing to help her. The mind reels. Danvers was raped, and Marvel thought that was a cool idea for an arc? It’s so creepy and disgusting, that Chris Claremont retconned the story in Avengers Annual #10.

RAY PALMER & JEAN LORING
Let’s Meet Our Couple: Ray Palmer is the Atom, a hero who can shrink to any size, a power he uses that to help foil crimes. Jean Loring started out in the Silver Age as lawyer, one who called upon the Atom to help her with cases. The two formed one of the happier Silver Age couples.
Creepy Factor: This is a creepy jamboree. Poor Jean Loring was doomed almost from the start. First, she was kidnapped by an alien and driven insane. After a year of being cracked, Loring was cured by an entire other alien species. Kidnapped a second time, Loring was rescued by the Atom, who also married her. They divorced after Loring cheated on the Atom. In the Identity Crisis story arc, Loring and Atom entered a whole new level of creepy. In what can only be called the worst get-back-together plan ever, Jean accidentally kills Sue Dibny and then uses her death to try and get the male heroes to come back and protect their wives, including Ray Palmer. By the time she’s mortally wounded, the trail of destruction is vast.

THE COMEDIAN & SALLY JUPITER
Let’s Meet Our Couple: He’s a psychopathic, sadistic “super hero” who runs with the original Watchmen. Sally Jupiter is another hero with the original Watchm\en, one with a massive drinking problem.
Creepy Factor: Without question, this is a creeper’s dream. Comedian brutally rapes Jupiter. Her general low self-worth keeps her from doing anything about it. Later, and for reasons never made clear (unless you count Before Watchmen), she actually falls for Comedian and sleeps with him of her own accord. This dalliance that produces a daughter who grows to be the Silk Spectre. While her own daughter vehemently opposes her love of the Comedian, Sally continues to have feelings for him long into her life.
