If you thought the Angry Birds format had just about tapped itself out with iterations on everything from Star Wars to Rio, well…feast your eyes on the new gameplay trailer from Rovio Entertainment for the fast-approaching Angry Birds Epic.
No more simple catapults and falling pigs in Epic, according to the trailer originally posted on Destructoid, among other places …what we've got here looks to be a complete overhaul of the Birds experience: turn-based fighting, a campaign built around a full story, even ways to start crafting your own weapons, armor, magic and the like.
Yeah, this definitely ain't your slightly older cousin's Angry Birds.
Epic is available as of today (March 17) in Canada, Australia and New Zealand with promises of a full global rollout to follow shortly.
