Tech Squibs: MOTO TC Rally Tears Up Bunny Trail

This Tech Squib can masquerade as a gift for some little man in your life, but you know damn well it’s for you. You selfish wretch.

For $99, the MOTO TC Rally car is the kind of tech toy you might pick up for a son, a nephew or a little brother as a gift around, say, Easter time. You snatch it up and present it to the kid. You download the free app that controls it. You demonstrate how your smartphone controls the car and its various functions. And, you wait until the kid heads out to search for eggs or something so you can play with the MOTO TC Rally yourself.

Once the kid is out of the way, you can tap into the MOTO TC Rally’s different modes. Set up a course, and you can race against the clock. Find another adult pretending the toy is for someone else, and you can race against each other as you trade virtual paint. The app even allows you to tweak your car’s performance for different conditions.

Sooner or later, the kid is bound to return. Make sure you get as much fun out of this great tech toy before that happens. But, use it too much and it’ll need to recharge — leaving you to look like a first class heel. Drive responsibility.
