Between 720P Twitch streaming and recording videos on the fly using voice commands, the Xbox One is very good at sharing your most memorable moments. Well, except for screenshots. Thankfully, that soon won’t be the case.
Phil Spencer was sent a question by a user on Twitter asking if in-game screenshots are going to be added to Xbox One. He replied:
Yea, this is the list for the monthly updates, team is making great progress on the updates. More features to come.
Now, it’s going to be kind of hard to capture a moment perfectly in a screenshot when there’s motion using a voice command. Chances are there will be a way to take a screenshot without a voice command. If not, gamers who invest in the Kinectless Xbox One SKU may be upset.
After seeing today’s Quantum Break trailer, I can definitely say that game will be great for screenshots. Ryse: Son of Rome is currently the premier graphical showcase for the system, so there are bound to be a flood of screenshots appear online once the screenshot patch is applied.
Xbox One is about to receive its June update which adds real names, external storage, and some minor improvements. The July update hasn’t been detailed, so there’s a possibility it’ll include the screenshots feature.
