We’ll Discover Alien Life in 20 Years, says NASA

NASA has claimed that it will discover alien life within the next 20 years.

During a public meeting with NASA’s chief, top scientists working for the agency stated that they believed we would find extraterrestrials living outside of our Solar System within the next two decades. The scientists’ confidence in this stems from the power of the Kepler space telescope, which has discovered 700 brand new planets in 2014 alone, and the Hubble telescope’s successor, the James Webb Space Telescope.

NASA also plans to release an upgraded version of the Kepler, named the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, in 2017, which will serve greatly in their cause. Speaking of the technology, NASA science chief Jeff Grunsfeld said: “This technology we are using to explore exoplanets is real. The James Webb Space Telescope and the next advances are happening now. These are not dreams – this is what we do at NASA.” NASA astronomer Kevin Hand also stated that he believes “in the next 20 years we will find out we are not alone in the universe.”

It isn’t like NASA to make such a bold statement without some basis in reality, so could this mean we’ll finally make some contact within the next couple of decades? If so, we hope Will Smith’s still alive in case they don’t come in peace.
