Google Has Purchased Twitch for $1 Billion

According to sources at VentureBeat, who have been credible in the past, Google’s buyout of Twitch has been etched in stone. As previously rumored, the deal is worth $1 billion, making this a huge move by Google.

Although unconfirmed, it appears that the YouTube division of Google is responsible for the buyout. It’s possible that Twitch could be integrated into the YouTube network, in addition to moving profiles over to the same Google Plus driven system. If so, Google should expect backlash from gamers.
