Fan Expo Canada has announced the programming line-up for its event in Toronto later this month – the all-ages, pop culture extravaganza will welcome fans to geek out over comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming and to enjoy the many attractions it has to offer, including everything from a Darth Vader Roast to a special event with the cast of “Doctor Who.”
Highlights of this year’s schedule includes a display featuring the original Batmobile, celeb Q&As, and even things like speed dating and artist alley, where visitors can check out a number of up-and-coming artists and see their work firsthand. There will also be the 1st annual superhero ball at the Fairmont Royal York featuring Juno Award-winning band Lights. Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill join Matt Smith for a “Doctor Who” ticketed event, while comedians Greg Proops, Sean Cullen, and Darrin Rose take turns skewering the big daddy of the dark side in a Darth Vader roast.
“We are thrilled to bring to fans this year’s exciting programming and rare opportunities to connect with their favourite artists,” said Fan Expo Canada HQ President Steve Menzie in a press release. “Fans return to Fan Expo Canada not just for the stellar guest line up, but also the live experiences. Whenever you bring together a room of people passionate about the same thing, you can expect magic moments time and time again.”
Fan Expo Canada takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and runs from August 28-31.
