Spies never seem to retire, do they? Sure, they pack up their gadgets and tuxedoes once in a while and either move to a tropical climate or hide out in suburbia, but if Hollywood is any indication, they’re all just waiting to come back for “one last mission.” Sometimes more than one, if sequels are involved.
That’s the set-up in The November Man, the new thriller from director Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job), starring Pierce Brosnan, a former James Bond, as a retired CIA agent forced to protect a valuable witness played by Olga Kurylenko, a former “James Bond Girl,” who may be able to blow the lid off of a decades-old conspiracy. Retirement just ain’t what it used to be. Do you think this happens to retired accountants? Are they ever called back in for “one last tax return?”
