In an interesting but “Hey, that actually makes sense!” move, the Cleveland Browns’ defenders are wearing specialized mixed-sport gloves on their hands during practice to prepare themselves for the inevitable NFL crackdown on defensive holding coming this season.
For reasons unknown, clinging onto the jersey of a wide receiver was not penalty-worthy in the past. It will draw a flag now, and the Browns seem to be taking this very seriously.
Perhaps this is a good thing. Maybe it’ll result in some cleaner football.
