Sin City: A Dame to Kill For – Exclusive Josh Brolin Beatdown

When Josh Brolin joined the cast of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For – the long awaited sequel to the first adaptation of Frank Miller’s celebrated noir comic books, Sin City – he probably expected to be welcomed with open arms. Then of course he has to endure a scene like this one, from the anthology movie’s title installment, in which he gets pummeled mercilessly by actor Dennis Haysbert. How bad does Josh Brolin get beat up in this scene? He gets punched all the way into poetry. Now that’s a beatdown.

Interestingly enough, both Brolin and Haysbert are playing roles originated by different actors. Clive Owen played Dwight in the first Sin City, and the late Michael Clarke Duncan played the villainous Manut. It’s obvious why Haysbert had to replace the previous actor, but the Clive Owen situation is a little different, as fans of the comics already know.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill for, directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, starring Josh Brolin, Eva Green, Mickey Rourke, Dennis Haysbert, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Juno Temple, Powers Boothe, Rosario Dawson and Jessica Alba opens in theaters on August 22, 2014.
