AFL: Kangaroos Secure Home Elimination Final

North Melbourne Kangaroos have secured a home elimination final after beating the Adelaide Crows by 7 points at Blundstone Arena in Hobart on Saturday afternoon. Adelaide could not could not take advantage of their opportunities up front against a steadfast Kangaroos, who also controlled the ball in the midfield, winning with an impressive 14.17 (101) to 13.16 (94).

The lead changed six times in a thrilling match. North Melbourne dominated the first quarter, but the Crows came back with two goals to Jarryd Lyons in the second. With a massive second half, North Melbourne’s Jack Ziebell was the go-to man in the forward 50. He finished with 28 points (4.4), kicking three goals in a row, deep into the third quarter, to spur his side to victory.

Scott Thomas was the Crows best, tallying 27 disposals and seven tackles. In a tough game, Adelaide’s Patrick Dangerfield was limited to five disposals in the second half by some gritty North Melbourne defense.

The Crows drop out of the top eight and will now have their finals footy decided by other results. North Melbourne Kangaroos had not beaten Adelaide outside of Melbourne since 2003 and now have tremendous momentum heading into their home elimination final.
