Sunset Overdrive has a pretty cool system in place for making the game community oriented. It’s done through Sunset TV, a set of televisions around the game world that broadcast a weekly video uploaded by Insomniac Games. The videos change without any update needing to be downloaded thanks to the Xbox One Cloud, and they serve a few purposes.
These videos serve a few purposes. For one, they’re a gateway between Insomniac Games and players. So, knowing that thousands of players each week will see the video without needing to go to YouTube or elsewhere, the developer can communicate plans for new content or share information with players. According to the latest video, this will even include user-submitted content, meaning that players that send in art can have their work shown to others around the world.
Additionally, Sunset TV has a vote feature, allowing users to easily vote for a variety of things. These will usually come in the form of weekly personal challenges and bi-monthly community challenges.

All the above as well as the game’s Dynamic Music System are described in the latest Sunset TV video, which Insomniac has uploaded to YouTube. You can watch it above.
