Lyndsy Fonseca Enlists In Marvel’s ‘Agent Carter’

In the two Kick-Ass films, Lyndsy Fonseca played the love interest of the title character from the creator owned comic books by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. that were originally published by Marvel Comics. But in 2015, Fonseca will get to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an unexpected way.

Marvel has announced that Fonseca has been signed to a recurring role on the upcoming “Agent Carter” TV series starring Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter. Spinning out of Atwell’s appearances in Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the Agent Carter One-shot film, “Agent Carter” will take place in 1946 as Peggy Carter goes on covert missions for Strategic Scientific Reserve, a precursor organization to S.H.I.E.L.D. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fonseca’s character will be Angie, an aspiring actress who becomes friends with Peggy. Chad Michael Murray and Enver Gjokaj will co-star in the series, with Dominic Cooper slated to reprise his role as Howard Stark, the father of Tony Stark aka Iron Man.

Aside from the Kick-Ass films, Fonseca is best known for her starring role in “Nikita” on The CW. She has also appeared in “How I Met Your Mother, “Desperate Housewives” and Hot Tub Time Machine.

“Agent Carter” will run for eight episodes in early 2015, as it takes over the 9pm Tuesday timeslot while “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is on its midseason break.
