If I had a nickel every time some joker on the internet said “Half-Life 3 confirmed!!”, I’d be one rich bastard. Fortunately, this editorial’s headline isn’t fake or trying to instill a sense of false wonder. A fan made, semi-official Valve-sponsored revamp of Half-Life 2 is practically upon us, and it comes in the form of a whopping 7GB download.
Through enhanced lighting, bug squashing, better environmental details and particle effects, what we get is a Half-Life 2 that looks a little more caught up with the times and perhaps a tad bit more cinematic. Check out a comparison for yourself so that you can really see the difference:
