Paul Blart 2 Draws Ire of Pretty Much All Critics, Everywhere

Yeah, alright, sequels typically don’t do as well as the film that came first. If the original movie creates big expectations, follow-ups have an even harder time stepping into those shoes. However, when you’re talking about Paul Blart: Mall Cop, it wasn’t necessarily fantastic to begin with; it was simply a vehicle for Kevin James’ signature style of slapstick humor and self-deprecation set in a nearly nonsensical plot.

It looks like the second Mall Cop not only continues throwing at you the essentially recycled humor from film number one, but does it with even more reckless abandon, drawing the critics to pick at the movie mercilessly like vultures surrounding a carcass in the desert.

Look, we love Kevin James, but unfortunately he will be forever typecast as the type of character he played in King of Queens. That is, unless he starts taking on some serious roles. We know you’re more than this, Kevin. You’re better than a ZERO percent on Rotten Tomatoes

Ouch.

Thanks to our friends at Cinema Blend for reminding us that, sometimes, less is more. By that, we mean less of Paul Blart.
