Last month, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment released a new animated movie, Justice League: Gods and Monsters; which was a much darker take on the DC universe as envisioned by animation legend Bruce Timm. In that world, the son of Zod was Superman, Batman was Kirk Langstrom, and Wonder Woman wasn’t Princess Diana of the Amazons!
Instead, this world’s Wonder Woman is Bekka of the New Gods. In the film, the reason why Bekka fled from her people was revealed, but she’s apparently been on Earth for a long, long time!
In this exclusive preview for the prequel comic, Justice League: Gods and Monsters – Wonder Woman # 1, Bekka arrives on Earth in 1962 with trouble on her heels. But even after a time of peace among strangers, Bekka will still have to face Doctor Psycho and the Shock Exchange!
J.M. DeMatteis wrote the script for Justice League: Gods and Monsters – Wonder Woman # 1 from a story he wrote with Timm. The artwork was drawn by comic book veterans Rick Leonardi and Dan Green.
Justice League: Gods and Monsters – Wonder Woman # 1 will be released on Wednesday, August 5.
