Tim Cook and Elon Musk Attend Meeting to Discuss “Stopping Donald Trump”

Tim Cook and Elon Musk were among the names who reportedly attended a secretive meeting and discussed “stopping Donald Trump,” according to an emailed report allegedly obtained from the conference.

The meeting, which took place at the American Enterprise Institute’s annual World Forum, saw Apple CEO Tim Cook, SpaceX and Tesla Motors founder Elon Musk, Google co-founder Larry Page and Napster founder/Facebook investor Sean Parker representing the tech industry in a discussion that was allegedly haunted “by the specter of Donald Trump.”

According to the email, obtained by Huffington Post, Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol reportedly wrote:

“A specter was haunting the World Forum—the specter of Donald Trump. There was much unhappiness about his emergence, a good deal of talk, some of it insightful and thoughtful, about why he’s done so well, and many expressions of hope that he would be defeated… The key task now, to once again paraphrase Karl Marx, is less to understand Trump than to stop him.”

It’s not known exactly what Kristol means by the attendees of the conference planning to “stop Trump,” nor what they discussed outside of their apparent ill feelings towards the GOP candidate, but if the report is to be believed then it seems that the divisive GOP candidate is causing unrest among some of the United States’ most influential figures.

The meeting also reportedly saw Tim Cook and Arkansas senator Tom Cotton “fiercely debating” iPhone encryption, with Cotton reportedly bringing up Cook’s infamous open letter following his court order for the FBI.
