Anonymous has rekindled its previously announced plans to topple Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, asking supporters of the online group to “dismantle” the GOP frontrunner and “expose what he doesn’t want the public to know.”
The hacktivists announced that they would be pursuing “OpTrump,” their campaign to bring an end to the divisive Republican candidate’s run for US presidency, once again in a new video, though this time they insist they’re expanding their efforts beyond DDoS attacks. The video branded it “a declaration of total war.”
Watch the video below:
The spokesperson for Anonymous says that Trump has “shocked the entire planet with [his] appalling actions and ideas,” adding: “This is a call to protect our future, our freedom and our very way of life. This is a call to you: we need you to shut down his websites, research and expose what he doesn’t want the public to know. We need you to dismantle his campaign and sabotage his brand. We are encouraging every able person with a computer watching this video to participate in this operation.”
Anonymous’ previous efforts to stifle the Trump campaign was limited to bringing down one of his official websites with a DDoS attack, though this time they’re looking to increase their momentum. It remains to be seen whether they will actually have any impact on Trump’s ongoing presidential carnival, but considering the kind of rhetoric Trump spouts in front of the public, it’s imaginable that it wouldn’t be that difficult to gather some dirt on him from behind closed doors.
