NYIAS 2016: Nissan Unloads 2017 Titan Pickup

The Titan XD is the biggest, most powerful truck in the Nissan line, so it’s natural enough to debut a sister 2017 model in America’s biggest city via NYIAS 2016.

The Titan will be Nissan’s flagship truck, and the 2017 Crew Cab version rumbled forth at a special media event during the NYIAS press preview. Unlike other pickup truck lines from Ford and GMC, Nissan is avoiding the course of using turbocharged six cylinder engines and staying true to a 5.6 liter Endurance V8 gasoline power plant. The result promises to be one of the naturally most powerful production pickups currently available.

When the new Titan arrives in showrooms come late summer of this year, it will launch as a Crew Cab model — adding single and King Cab trims soon afterward. Regardless of trim (S, SV, PRO-4X, SL and Platinum Reserve), the Titan will come in 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain configurations with three bed lengths (5.5, 6.5 and 8 feet).

A six speed automatic transmission will manage the power, with drive mode selectors allowing adjustable ride modes in higher trim levels.

Actual towing capabilities numbers, MPG figures, speed top ends and other stats are on hold until closer to release date. And, Nissan will report MSRP prior to the truck’s summer arrival.
