Mets’ Wilmer Flores Uses ‘Friends’ Theme Song For Walkup Music

We’ve heard some great walk-up music in recent years. Now, New York Mets infielder Wilmer Flores can be added to the list of players with whimsical — and memorable — walk-up songs.

The infielder reportedly is head over heels in love with Friends. The TV show helped him learn English after moving to the States from Venezuela.

As he approached the plate for his first at-bat of Sunday night, he debuted his new walk-up song at Citi Field. It’s cute — certainly not a typical pump-up song you hear before a player’s at-bat in front of a stadium full of people.

Here’s the direct Twitter link in case the video above gets taken down. It’s nice to see The Rembrandts are still getting some royalties out of their one hit wonder.

Now that it’s on Netflix, I’m waiting to hear someone blast Macgyver.
