Back in the day, superhero movies were content to simply slap a leotard on a stuntman and yell “Action!” But somewhere along the line, directors realized that casting people who can actually act might earn the sub-genre some more respect, and now we live in a world where non-comic book movies are the anomaly. But which super-franchise boasts the most prestigious cast of award winners and nominees (keeping it to the big acting nods: Oscars, Golden Globes, Emmys and Tonys)? With “X-Men: Days of Future Past” star Jennifer Lawrence ready to possibly snag her second Oscar this weekend, it’s a good time to separate the lauded from the laughed-off.
