The artist formerly known as Chet Faker, has just premiered the first single, “Stop Me (Stop You)” from his forthcoming album and the second track released since reverting back to his given name of Nick Murphy.

The New York-based Australian producer described the new song in a press release, “’Stop Me (Stop You)’ is essentially two inseparable songs. Ying and yang of past and present.”
Co-produced by Dave Harrington, one half of the electronic music duo Darkside (along with Nicolas Jaar), the 8-minute moog rock anthem indeed sounds like a two-for-one deal, blending old Chet Faker and a new soul-bearing Bon Iver-esque sound that seems to tie in with Murphy’s decision to go back to his roots, which he detailed on a Facebook post.
