The New York-based Australian producer described the new song in a press release, “’Stop Me (Stop You)’ is essentially two inseparable songs. Ying and yang of past and present.”

Co-produced by Dave Harrington, one half of the electronic music duo Darkside (along with Nicolas Jaar), the 8-minute moog rock anthem indeed sounds like a two-for-one deal, blending old Chet Faker and a new soul-bearing Bon Iver-esque sound that seems to tie in with Murphy’s decision to go back to his roots, which he detailed on a Facebook post.
