When you think of EDM hotbeds the first cities that come to mind are Ibiza, Miami, and Los Angeles. You might soon add San Diego to that list as “America’s Finest City” boasts one of the biggest dance music festivals on the West Coast with the bi-annual CRSSD, a thriving underground club scene and a handful of rising DJ talent.

One of the names to watch is RAD CAT. Born and raised in San Diego, RAD CAT (real name Christian Ariza) has made a name for himself as a production whiz, working on tracks for Blackbear, Kevin Gates, and Travis Mills.
After stepping out for a hometown gig at this Spring’s CRSSD festival, RAD CAT is now putting out new music as a solo artist.
Crave is exclusively premiering RAD CAT’s new Untitled EP (out July 28th). The four song taster shows Ariza’s genre-hopping sensibilities as he balances big beats with choppy synths that wash over you like a warm tide.
RAD CAT’s chillax-ing sound is very much in tune with Mura Masa and Jai Wolf, but with a sunnier, albeit safer disposition –less urban, more urbane if you will.
Here’s what Rad Cat hat to say about the concept behind his new EP, “I wanted to release something that had a happy summer feel. I wanted to be able to spread a really good positive vibe with this release.”
