Watch Vice News’ Charlottesville Neo-Nazi Documentary

We’ve reached a very ugly moment in our history as a country. One weekend of terrifying violence does not define us as a people, but it has laid bare the uncomfortable truth that racism is far from dead. Despite attempts by the President and others to create a false equivalency between the Neo-Nazis and those who actively opposed them, it’s very clear who is on the wrong side of history. And if you still can’t tell after everything that’s happened, this means that it’s you.

Although we’re only a few days removed from the horrific events in Charlottesville, Vice News Tonight has already broadcast a stunning documentary on the subject. Via Esquire, Vice News has posted its entire “Charlottesville: Race and Terror” special online for everyone to see. Vice News reporter Elle Reeve was on the ground in Charlottesville as the weekend played out, and she even managed to get close to white supremacist leader Chris Cantwell for a significant stretch of time. These people were not shy about their racist beliefs and their willingness to terrorize and intimidate. They’ve shown us who they really are. The real question is how will the rest of the country respond to them? These divisions and fractures have festered for years, and now we need to deal with it. All of us, together. Because when it comes to this type of hate, there is no neutrality. You’re either for it or against it.
