Anyone that had anything close to a solid childhood probably remembers playing the classic Game Boy — you know, the big ugly gray box that wouldn’t fit in your pocket as much as you wanted it to. But as ugly and as big at it was it was still part of our childhood and we miss it dearly. But not to worry because one student has brought it back, even if it’s bigger than you remember.
A 21-year-old from Belgium named Ilhan Ünal decided to spend a month of his life building the largest working Game Boy ever, a world record, coming in at about three feet tall and two feet wide.

Here’s what Ünal had to say about his creation.
“The Game Boy was a huge part of many people’s childhood, including my own. I was obsessed with my Game Boy as a kid, so I wanted to create something that would put a smile on little Ilhan’s face, and hopefully on the face of anyone who is a big kid at heart.”
Well knowing that this massive Game Boy is actually fully functional and plays all of the old cartridges would put a smile on anyone’s face. Ünal’s Game Boy graphics may look a bit odd but that’s only because these graphics were made for a tiny screen. But regardless, this has taken us back to our childhood and for that we give this dude kudos.
