New Avengers: Infinity War Official Plot Synopsis Heavily Hints That Someone’s Going to Bite the Dust

Marvel has released the official film synopsis of one of 2018’s most sought after move releases, Avengers: Infinity War, and things aren’t looking too good for our superheroes.

Not only will Infinity War be the culmination of almost a decade’s worth of build up, but we’re most likely going to say goodbye to a few Avengers once the film hits, too. Nothing’s definite yet, but if you read the synopsis below, Marvel isn’t hiding the fact that there’s a very big chance that someone — or a group of someones — will be biting the dust come May 2018.

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their super hero allies must willing to sacrifice it all in an attempt to defeat the power of Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

Words like “deadliest” and “sacrifice” are being strewn about, which doesn’t bode well for our team of superheroes. Of course, Marvel is no stranger to killing a character off and then revealing they’re still alive (ie: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, anyone?), but this one has a feeling of finality to it especially since a lot of the actors will have their contractual obligations fulfilled with Infinity War.

While some heroes might die when Infinity War launches, that won’t be the end of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). On the contrary, far from it, given Marvel has already plotted 20 films after “Avengers 4.“And of course, Disney acquiring Fox last year means we’ll see the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and more, be introduced to the MCU sometime soon-ish.

Personally, I have a sneaking suspicion we’ll see the end of Captain America (Chris Evans) in Infinity War. What better way to cap off the movie than to see the leader of the Avengers bite the dust, right?

Set to hit theaters worldwide this May, Avengers: Infinity War will see the big baddie himself, Thanos, make his way onto the battlefield in his quest to unite the Infinity Stones to create the Infinity Gauntlet. You can check out the action-filled Infinity War trailer here.
