Oh boy. Is it dusty in here or what?
According to The Charlotte Observer, 15-year-old Austin Eggleston is “doing well” as he recovers from a heart transplant at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, a procedure that didn’t take place until Chewbacca showed up in his room to let him know that a donor had been found.
Dr. Philip Thrush became a legend when he promised Austin that he would dress up like the Star Wars Wookiee whenever they found a match for him, and let’s just say the moment he followed through on that promise will leave you a bit misty.
Months ago when Austin was listed for a heart transplant, Dr. Thrush said he would deliver the news a heart was available dressed as Chewbacca. On Saturday, Chewbacca stopped by Austin’s room. #donatelife #organdonor #all4your1

I mean, that’s why you don’t go to Starbucks to write your articles. That way nobody sees you balling your eyes out like you do every time you watch Rudy.

While nobody was more thrilled than Austin with the idea of getting a new heart, his mom was obviously also overjoyed by the entire process.
“To see him knowing that he has a chance at life, that he has a chance to achieve so many things leaves you speechless,” Mary Anglin said. “He will make sure that he does remarkable things because of it.”
Great stuff.
