The Mask is a 1994 comedic masterpiece that centers around Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey), an adrift man who discovers a supernatural mask that, when worn, makes him a magical playboy gangster. He robs banks, makes balloon animals into Tommy guns, and woos Tina Carlyle (Cameron Diaz). Carrey was the perfect person to play Ipkiss and his green-faced alter ego. His fearless style of slapstick comedy allowed him to embody a unique brand of satirical showmanship. This thespian type of wacky meant he didn’t give a fuck in the best way.
