…And the Winner of Super Bowl Sunday Is Kanye’s Instagram Meltdown on Pete Davidson (And a Lot of Other Stuff We Can’t Understand)

If you’re a social media follower of Kanye West, you’re used to your head spinning. The born-again rapper is known for going on extended rants, filling his timeline with manic postings that rarely make sense. But his latest social media spew was so next level, even we can’t unpack it all.

The multi-pronged attack started on Saturday night on Instagram. Ye took aim at Kid Cudi, informing fans that his former collaborator will not be featured on West’s forthcoming album Donda 2 because Cudi is friends with “you know who.” He demanded Billie Eilish apologize for caring about a fan (which he interpreted as a sideways insult at Travis Scott), threw shade on Ariana Grande, and trashed Machine Gun Kelly’s music.

Ultimately, Ye turned his ire on Pete Davidson, calling his ex-wife’s new boy toy a “dickhead” and insisting “NO YOU WILL NEVER MEET MY CHILDREN.”

In Ye’s strangest post, he apparently had fun photoshopping a new version of Marvel’s Civil War poster, which pitted Ye, Drake, Julia Fox, Travis Scott, and Future against Davidson, Kim Kardashian, Cudi, Eilish, and Taylor Swift. “THE INTERNET HAS STILL NOT FOUND A DECENT PICTURE OF SKETE,” he captioned the bizarre image. (Skete, we assume, is Kanye’s nickname for Kardashian and Davidson, with a little bit of shit-throwing for good measure.)

Hey, we don’t disagree that Davidson is an odd choice of mate, but Kim has never been known for picking winners. (Ahem.) Still, dude doesn’t deserve this.

By Sunday morning, most of the evidence of the insanity was gone…but not all of it.

Oh, Ye. We may have a lot of theories about what’s going on here, but none of us thought your account was hacked. This is all very on-brand for you.

The saddest part of all this, however, was the very last pic on his Instagram. It’s a collage of his kids with Kim Kardashian. “GOD PLEASE BRING OUR FAMILY BACK TOGETHER,” he captioned the shots.

We won’t pretend that we can predict the future (the Pete Davidson thing totally took us by surprise, too) but we’re pretty Kim is never taking this nutcase back.

Ye may have won the internet, but he lost the war.
