Knightmare, the sublimely nerdy 80’s kids’ TV show, has been revived for a one-off special as part of YouTube’s ‘Geek Week’.
Fans of the original show, which tasked players with traversing through a D&D-esque medieval environment, solving puzzles and running away from giant spiders, will appreciate that the show has received few, if any, aesthetic upgrades in its transition to the 21st century. The only real difference is the inclusion of Peep Show actress Isy Suttie, and that the child participants have been replaced by four British YouTube celebrities – Amazing Phil, DanIisnotonfire, Stuart Ashen and Emma Blackerry.
YouTube’s Geek Week is running from August 4th – 10th, and will explore everything from superheroes to science. The likes of The Guild creator Felicia Day, comedian CrabStickz and Stan Lee are all set to make appearances during the course of the week.
