CraveOnline’s Band of The Month featured artist Everlast returns today with another excellent offering from his upcoming new solo album, The Life Acoustic, arriving August 27 via his Martyr Inc record label. The man who fronted House of Pain, helped launch La Coka Nostra and has carved his own niche with a barrage of powerful grit-&-rhythm solo albums is revisiting signature tracks from his career and beyond on the collection.
The Life Acoustic will feature reworked and stripped versions of signature Everlast songs and beyond, including “My Medicine,” which originally appeared on Snoop Dogg’s Ego Trippin‘ album in 2008, an acoustic version of the monster House Of Pain anthem, “Jump Around” and more. Last week we shared with you an exclusive performance of “Sad Girl,” the first track off The Life Acoustic. Today we’re bringing you his funked-up, positively badass cover of “Children’s Story” by Slick Rick, filtered through the unique stylings of Everlast.
We set up shop at Swing House studios in Los Angeles for an exclusive CraveOnstage session, and August’s featured Band of The Month artist brought the goods. Check out an exclusive studio performance of “Children’s Story” below.
