Dogg Pound producer/rapper Daz Dillinger has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games, the makers of Grand Theft Auto V, for what he considers to be unfair compensation for the use of one of his tracks in the game.
Daz accuses the makers of GTAV of using his music, Kurupr’s “C-Walk” and Mack 10/Tha Dogg Pound’s “Nothin’ But the Cavi Hit” (both of which he produced) on the game’s soundtrack without permission, according to TMZ.

Dillinger was reportedly approached to use the tracks, with an offer of an “offensively low” $4,271. He allegedly turned them down, and they went ahead and used the music anyway. In response, Daz and his lawyers are asking for “a better offer,” or requesting that Take-Two and Rockstar “recall and destroy all unsold copies of the game.”
GTA V has sold nearly 17 million copies so far, and with over $1 billion in revenue has become the single most successful piece of media to ever hit shelves. According to Dillinger’s people, who have given the game makers 14 days to comply, the lawsuit is about “respecting an artist’s work. Rockstar didn’t do that here and I can’t let them get away with it.”
