Macklemore, Public Enemy Headline Breath Of Life 2014

The Breath Of Life Festival is returning to Tasmania for a another year and is bringing a couple of huge international acts to Australia’s island state.

The festival announced an impressive lineup on Thursday despite losing crucial funding from the Launceston City Council, still managing to secure the services of headliners Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Public Enemy and Empire Of The Sun.

If the US rap headlining duo isn’t your thing, there is a ton of diverse Aussie acts to get behind including Parkway Drive, Tonight Alive, Art Vs Science and rappers Drapht and Pez.

Breath Of Life promoter Clint Pease is a big fan of the diverse lineup.

“Having all genres for all people is a real key for Breath of Life… to have Macklemore & Ryan Lewis headline just sets the bar higher, and then there’s Parkway Drive, who are a massive band and Empire of the Sun will just present an amazing show,” he told The Examiner

“Art vs Science will have a new single and album and WIll Sparks is the biggest thing going around in the DJ world, so that’s massive, and then there’s Public Enemy, who are hip-hop royalty.”

Breath Of Life lost a $20,000 grant from the local government despite the festival’s work raising money for the Australian Lung Foundation. The lack of support hasn’t stopped the event staying put at Launceston’s Inveresk Showgrounds, to be held on March 8, continuing on from this year’s festival which brought the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Bliss N Eso, 360, Birds Of Tokyo, and The Amity Affliction to Tasmania.
