Next time you turn on your PS4 you’ll want to install the latest update: v1.52. Weighing in at 323MB, it does little more than improve system software stability, but for some users that’s a big deal.
Reports of PS4s freezing aren’t uncommon, especially while running the early versions of software. This update will hopefully remedy these problems.
Users have requested a lot of improvements, many of which involve UI customization through themes, icon rearrangement, and shortcut creation. Although Sony doesn’t have a timeline for when these additions will come, it has said it’s taking user feedback very seriously.
To update your PS4, either go to the notifications screen, which should contain an update reminder, or head to the settings menu. The update takes a few minutes, but is required to use software.
