“Rapper” Lil Wayne opens this ode to the Green Bay Packers with the phrase “I’m A Cheese Head”. He then moves on to ask people where their “green cards” are. It’s not easy to pimp out a song about football, much less one centered around Wisconsin. Lil Wayne takes his best shot, going so far as to refer to his enemies as “cheese spread”. Green And Yellow might not bring the international prestige that Clay Matthews’ Fathead commercials have, but it’s far less cheesy! (See what I did there?)
We all can’t be loved in the same way. Country crooner Mojo Nixon proves this point, by explaining how no amount of female prowess can beat out the male love of men in tight pants chasing balls. Nixon attempts to ease the pain by pointing out all the things he loves his lady friend more than. However, a line in the sand must be drawn, and it is drawn in AstroTurf. Take heed those who have given their hearts to football fans, Coach Nixon is giving you some much needed advice.
Originally titled “All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight,” this musical prayer to the gods of the gridiron became a staple of the football crowd. It’s got war and football, two things that have nothing to do with each other, and yet work on a BBQ and tailgating level. Flying jets, military leaders cracking wise on a comparison of football and invading other countries. This is the stuff football dreams are made of.
