“Your Halo Journey on Xbox One Begins in 2014,” Says Microsoft

Microsoft is being rather cryptic in regards to the Halo series’ debut on the Xbox One, with the rumour mill now in full swing in regards to the alleged upcoming Halo 2 Anniversary Edition.

Fielding a question from a fan on Twitter who asked whether or not Halo 2 Anniversary Edition was just speculation, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer replied: “Never get tired of questions on what’s coming. Just can’t always answer as we need news at events. Halo 2 is a good game…”

IGN then asked Microsoft for a follow-up statement regarding Spencer’s tweet, with the company responding: “Other than confirming that your Halo journey on Xbox One begins in 2014, we have made no announcements related to specific titles. Any report or listing to the contrary is based solely on speculation and rumor.”

While Microsoft has already said that Halo 5 will be releasing later this year, Spencer’s tweet seems to indicate that we’ll see an announcement of Halo 2 Anniversary Edition at a gaming event, presumably E3.

Personally, Halo 2 is one of my favourite games of all time, and I’d love to see an updated version of it to mark its 10-year anniversary later this year. If these rumours turn out to be true, then I’ll be the first one on Lockout armed with a sniper rifle.
