Watch: Olympic Triathlete Hopeful Crashes Bike During NekNomination

Promising British triathlete Ross Fawcett has found himself becoming the talk of Facebook today, after this video of him crashing his bicycle whilst taking part in a NekNomination has been passed around the social networking site.

The video shows 21-year-old Ross, who has represented Great Britain in the past and is a future Olympic hopeful, crashing to the floor after losing control of his bicycle whilst trying to drink a bottle of beer. The athlete lost a pint of blood following the incident and required seven stitches in his hand.

Speaking to The Mirror, Ross’ 19-year-old brother Ben said: “Ross had a lucky escape really. It could have been a lot worse considering how fast he was going. We all knew he had been nominated but we didn’t know how it was going to do it.

“I think he just decided after he had gone out training. None of us had much sympathy for him but luckily he wasn’t too badly hurt. It is a busy road but fortunately there wasn’t a car behind them at the time. His bike was covered in blood and was just scratched.

“Ross has been out training since so he’s OK now.”

Watch the video below, and be sure to check out our list of things you can do that are more fun than NekNominations. Perhaps Ross could’ve done with reading this list prior to making a tit out of himself on the internet.
